The way authorities handle cases sometimes are judged on what the problem is and whats the race of the victim. By blacks and other races of color being the minority group they tend to be mistreated , judged and given a label of some sort. 14 black girls have gone missing in Washington D.C in a matter of 24 hours yet it still didn't make the new until days later.“Nationally, about 35 percent of missing children are black, and roughly 20 percent are Latino.”According to Sheryl Gay Stolberg of the New York Times. When given these type of facts and statistics people of color tend the question themselves when shouldn't have. Asking questions like "If they were white would they be treated better?" or "If they were white would the percentages be different?" Unfortunately some may think they have the answers to these questions simply due to "white privilege" they believe whites have it better simply because of the color of their skin.
